Fishing with Booby flies
How to fish booby flies
Introduction
Fly fishing with Booby flies is a very effective technique that is easy to learn and use. It is a technique that is based on fishing flies that float with a sinking line or polyleader.
This gives the flies a unique gait in the water that has an almost magical attraction to a number of the species of fish that fly fishermen in Denmark fish for. It works excellently for sea trout on the coast, for perch, and can also be used successfully for pike. However, this fishing is particularly developed for fishing in lakes for trout.
The flies are easy to tie and do not require many different materials.
It is a technique that does not require much equipment and it is easy to adapt the equipment you already have to be used for booby fishing.

The gear
The gear for booby fishing depends on where you fish and how you want to fish your flies.
The flies
The classic booby flies are easy to tie and are built around a marabou tail , a body of cactus chenille and then the very clear and distinctive booby eyes made of foam cylinders . This is actually the whole thing and with these materials it is possible to tie a lot of different patterns. You can experiment with this and make the color combinations you want or you can see some of our suggestions here:
Brenda Booby is a pattern that has caught many fish and is designed specifically for coastal fishing, where this fly has proven to be extremely effective. However, it is also an excellent fly for put and take. You can see the material set for the Brenda Boobi fly here.
Another fly that has proven effective on both the shore and in put and take is the Pink Booby . You can find the material set here and see how to tie this fly in the video below;
