- Proceed with caution - Sea trout are shy and sound travels quickly in and along the stream.
- Fish deep in high light and high in low light
- Remember a good net with rubber mesh - both for landing and for taking care of the fish
- Cast several times at obvious locations - sometimes the fish need to be teased
- Check the fishing regulations of the association in question!
When are sea trout in the stream?
Sea trout migrate up the river all year round. With that said, the classic summer fishing for sea trout in the river begins in May.
In May, several systems will attract some very large fish up the river to occupy the best spots. These fish are also known as "May jumpers".
When can you catch sea trout in the stream?
The chance of catching a sea trout in the stream is "usually" greatest from July to September.
Here most fish will be pulling or have been pulled up into the system, and standing in various positions. At the same time, the bite instinct is still fairly intact, and it can be fairly easy to outwit one of the fish that are there.
Different conditions change the season
A lot of water or a lot of heat are typically factors that push fish up into the streams.
